Jermaine Brown
1989 First Team All-State Selection
A 1991 graduate of Fairdale High School Jermaine was a 1988 third-team all-state and 1989 first-team all-state selection as a defensive back. During his time as a Bulldog the team compiled a 42-6 record. Brown is also the school’s only Mr. Basketball selection (1991). Jermaine signed a letter of intent to play basketball at the University of Tennessee. |

Craig Walker
1986 and 1987 First Team All-State Selection
1987 Kentucky Player of the Year
Post Season All-American
Craig is perhaps the most decorated player to ever play football for the Bulldogs. Walker was a 1986 and 1987 first-team all-state selection at running back. Following the 1987 season he was honored as the Courier-Journal Player of the Year in Kentucky and a post season All-American Selection. Upon his graduation in 1988, Walker went on to play football at the University of Kentucky. His career highlights include Fairdale records 364 yards in a game, 2,070 yards in a single season, and 5,179 career yards.

Jeff Speedy
1977 First Team All-State Selection
Speedy is the oldest member of the group as a 1978 graduate. Jeff was the first all-state selection in the history of the Fairdale football program. Speedy’s all-state selection came after leading the Bulldogs to a 27-19-1 career record and three straight playoff appearances during his four years. Speedy remains the only Bulldog quarterback selected to the all-state team.

Darren Hayden
1986 First Team All-State Selection
Darren was one of four Fairdale players selected as first-team all-state in 1986 and remains the only Fairdale linebacker selected as a member of the first-team all-state. During his time as a Bulldog the team had a 23-20 record which was highlighted by a 10-2 record and second round playoff appearance his senior year. |

Tony Edelen
1989 First Team All-State Selection
Edelen is one of three members of the 1989 Bulldog’s team that was selected to the first-team all-state. Edelen is Fairdale’s only all-state running back selection since Craig Walker. Tony went on to play football at the University of Louisville following his graduation in 1990. During Edelen’s time as a Bulldog the team compiled a 42-7 record and lost just 3 regular-season games. |

Courtney Longacre
1986 First Team All-State Selection
Courtney was the second of four Fairdale players named first-team all-state in 1986. Longacre’s selection came at Center. Following his graduation in 1987 Longacre went on to play football at the University of Kentucky. During his time as a Bulldog the team had a 23-20 record which was highlighted by a 10-2 record and second round playoff appearance his senior year.

Jason Stinson
1990 First Team All-State Selection
Stinson is one of two Fairdale players that have played professional football. Stinson was selected to the 1990 first-team all-state as an offensive lineman. He was the only selection for the Dogs that year. Stinson was a member of the second winningest senior class in the history of Fairdale football. Stinson’s class finished 42-6 and lost only two regular-season games. Stinson played college football at the University of Louisville and professional football with the New York Giants. |

Leland Taylor
1991 First Team All-State Selection
Leland is the youngest member of the group as a 1992 graduate. Taylor was a 1991 first-team all-state selection as a defensive lineman. Leland was a member of the winningest senior class in Fairdale history. The 1992 graduating class lost just one regular-season game in four years finishing with a 42-5 record. Taylor went on to play football at the University of Louisville after transferring from the University of Tennessee. He also went on to play professional football with the Baltimore Ravens. |

Walter Underwood
1986 First Team All-State Selection
The late Walter Underwood was a member of the 1986 first-team all-state as an offensive lineman. Underwood remains just one of three Fairdale lineman ever selected to the all-state team. Underwood’s class went 23-20 during his time as a Bulldog and finished their career’s with a 10-2 record and second round playoff appearance in 1986. Underwood signed to play football at the University of Alabama before transferring to Morehead State University.
